The Spectrex SharpEye 40/40C-I-642AFY8 Multi-Spectrum QuadSense IR3 Flame Detector provides fast, long-range detection of hydrocarbon fuel and gas fires in demanding industrial and hazardous environments. Its four infrared sensors help distinguish genuine flame signatures from non-flame background radiation, providing high sensitivity with superior resistance to false alarms.

The detector can identify qualifying gasoline and n-heptane fires at distances up to 215 ft and typically responds in less than five seconds. Five sensitivity settings allow detection performance to be adapted to different facilities and applications, while the built-in infrared test continuously verifies optical integrity and electronic operation.

This configuration includes universal wiring, two ¾-inch NPT cable entries, a polyurethane-painted aluminum enclosure, USA and Canada explosion-proof approvals, a 316 stainless-steel tilt mount, and a durable 316 stainless-steel protective cover. With IP66, IP68, and NEMA 6P environmental protection, it is ideal for refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants, tank farms, pipelines, fuel-storage facilities, power plants, warehouses, aircraft facilities, and other high-risk industrial locations.
